Availability design in microservices

Splitting services too finely explodes complexity and makes incidents hard to trace. Split along business boundaries; deploy and scale each service independently.

Circuit breaking and rate limiting

In distributed systems any service can drag others down. Hystrix/Sentinel-class breakers are standard; rate limiting protects against bursts.

Multi-active architecture

Core businesses need multi-active: same-city multi-active as the baseline, remote disaster recovery as the backstop.

Monitoring is SRE's eyes. Prometheus + Grafana with tiered alerts via AlertManager; watch RED metrics (Rate, Errors, Duration).
